Repair
At the moment, we cannot yet accommodate individual repairs of garments, but we are actively working towards ways of offering this service to our customers. We encourage everyone to look to repair their garments where possible. Local repair shops or services such as Clothes Doctor are a great means of getting your clothes fixed and enjoy them for longer. We look forward to updating you on the options available as soon as we can.
Aftercare
The use of technical and recycled fabrics in our collections and the deep, vibrant colours in our designs are made to last. We would like to share a few simple rules we live by to help you maintain the quality of your item, so you can enjoy it ride after ride. You can find specific wash and care instructions on the inside or outside of each of our garments.
-
Before washing, consider airing your cycling clothes so they can breathe a little – it helps to get the odours out.
-
If you have any muddy garments after an epic gravel ride, we recommend treating them separately. If still wet, let the mud dry completely. When dried, carefully scrape off the excess. Gently rub a bit of mild liquid detergent on the area, leave to work for a few minutes and rinse with cold water. Then, wash your garment either by hand or in the washing machine using your detergent as usual. Consider keeping the garment(s) separate as the mud could transfer onto other clothes during the washing process.
-
Turn your garment inside-out for a thorough clean and to safeguard colours and logo applications.
-
Consider putting more delicate items, such as base-layers and jerseys in a mesh laundry bag. We recommend the use of a Guppyfriend washing bag to stop the release of microfibers from textiles that end up in rivers and oceans.
-
Avoid using harsh detergents as these can damage the properties of textile fibres and use a small amount of detergent – if you use too much soap, your machine will find it difficult to properly rinse your garments. Don’t use bleach or fabric softener.
-
Wash cold at 30 degrees to avoid textile damage and shrinkage.
-
Air dry your clothes; we like to put them on a hanger so the garment can return to its intended shape and form.
-
Our Mono cotton caps deserve a bit of special attention and we advise you to wash them on a 30-degree low spin cycle or to hand wash them in lukewarm water with a mild detergent to avoid deforming the peak.
-
Consider using a waterproofing product for clothes that are treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) to help keep your garment performing like new and increase its lifespan. Water-based and environmentally safe is Nikwax®, a leader in high-performance waterproofing. We are offering a free Nikwax Tech Wash® essentials pack with every Chroma rain jacket.
